MANGO PRESENTA EN ARCO SU NUEVO PROYECTO SOLIDARIO
Last Thursday, 12 February, on the occasion of our collaboration with the Contemporary Art Fair (ARCO), we held a party at Matadero Madrid. During the event, we presented our new collaboration project with the Articulo 1./ Foundation, whose principal aim is to spread the message of the articles contained in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights through art. As official sponsors of ARCOmadrid 09, we also presented this new project at the venue which is staging the International Contemporary Art Fair, being held in the capital from 11 to 16 February.
Isak Andic, the company Chairman, attended the event to welcome the MANGO faithful, who included Mónica Cruz, Ariadne Artiles, Teresa Baca, Eloy Azorín, Alejandra de Rojas, Boris Izaguirre, Roberto Hoyas, Almudena Cid and Nadia de Santiago, who came along to enjoy a party featuring performances by several international artists. They were also able to enjoy the performances offered by three artists from India, the country invited by ARCO. Lourdes Fernández, the Director of ARCO, was one of the other stars of the evening.
In this solidarity project, celebrated artists such as Toni Segarra, Borja Martínez, Jordi Flo, Félix F. De Castro, Verónica Vilaseca, Cuca Canals and Sergio Piera have donated designs inspired by Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, in order to create seven men’s and women’s t-shirts, which will be sold in our stores and the profits from which will go to said Foundation. By supporting this initiative, we are once again banking on art and expressing our commitment to social actions, in addition to values such as creativity, the avant-garde, quality and internationalisation, values which characterise our positioning as a brand.
During the Fair, MANGO had a space dedicated to live art: MANGO Performing Arco, which offered a series of live performances by international artists, as well as the performances of the three Indian artists. These artistic representations help broaden the view of contemporary art and show the public the main trends in international performing art today. The MANGO Performing Arco space was located in an oval structure of pavilion 6 of the Feria de Madrid trade exhibition centre.
